Michele’s Sweet Shoppe sent me nine flavors — Caramel, Dillicous, Buffalo Ranch, Coconut Almond Bliss, Dark Chocolate Mint, Peanut Butter Cup, Cookies and Cream, Sweet & Cheesy, and New England Maple.

I started out my tasting with the Caramel flavor. I really really like caramel popcorn and this flavor was really really good. The Dillicous had bits of real dill. The Buffalo Ranch was two flavors in one — Ranch flavor and a very nice spicy Buffalo BBQ flavor. The combination of flavors worked real well. The Dark Chocolate Mint reminded me of the After Eight dinner mints. The Peanut Butter Cup flavor was good, but I’ve had better tasting peanut butter flavored popcorn. The Cookies and Cream and the Sweet & Cheesy flavors were my least favorite flavors.

The Coconut Almond Bliss was one of my favorites. Imagine a crunchy dark chocolate Almond Joy. The New England Maple flavor was my other favorite, but I think it could have used a stronger maple flavor.

I enjoyed all of the popcorn from Michele’s Sweet Shoppe, but be sure to try the New England Maple. If you like it as much as I do then you’ll be eating it by the handful.

Metropolis Popcorn sent me a box that contained six different gourmet popcorn flavors — Better Kettle, White Chocolate Peanut Butter, Sweet Heat, Iced Cinnamon Roll, Chocolate Covered Pretzel, and Anonymous Addiction.

I started my tasting by opening the bag of Anonymous Addiction because I didn’t know any of the actual ingredients. It was a totally blind taste test. The first taste reminded me of garlic bread. It certainly contained garlic and it was salty too. I could also taste pepper, but there was another flavor that I just wasn’t getting. It was earthy and reminded me of truffles. Whatever it was (their website mentions lime), the combination of ingredients in this popcorn flavor was just amazing. This flavor certainly has a high addiction rate. I loved it.

The Better Kettle flavor was not like any ordinary kettle flavor that I’ve had. It had a slight vanilla flavor that I just didn’t care for. The Chocolate Covered Pretzel was interesting, but I thought the chocolate flavor was bland. The Iced Cinnamon Roll is a popcorn flavor that can be used to enhance your favorite breakfast cereal, but it could have used a bit more cinnamon. The Sweet Heat was another one of my favorites. The first taste was sweet, but just a few seconds later a very nice BBQ flavor spice hits your mouth and stays there a few minutes. This flavor was really spicy. The last flavor I tried was the White Chocolate Peanut Butter. Although I’m not a big fan of white chocolate, the combination was pretty good and the peanut butter flavor was yummy.

All of the flavors I tried from Metropolis Popcorn were crunchy and fresh. The Sweet Heat and Anonymous Addiction flavors were my favorites.

I recently received a big box in the mail from farmer Gene that contained several bags of his new popcorn (currently there are two flavors — Sea Salt and White Cheddar) and a few bags of kernels. I couldn’t wait to open up a bag, so I ripped open a bag of the White Cheddar and began chomping. The crunch was exactly as I remembered but the white cheddar flavor was a bit mild. I didn’t mind and continued to eat about half the contents. I would have preferred a stronger cheese flavor, but that’s just my opinion. You really need to try this popcorn. I waited until the next day to open the Sea Salt flavor. It was just like I popped it myself. I like to season my popcorn with black pepper and sea salt… no butter required. This is just how I ate popcorn as a kid and it’s how I prefer to eat popcorn today. If you like popcorn as much as I do then do yourself a favor and go out and get some Tiny But Mighty. This popcorn is AWESOME!!!

It’s very cool because on each package it says “Eat Me Frozen!” They sent me a nice variety of their flavors that included Crazy Caramel, Cupid’s Heart (Red Hots and Caramel), Papa’s Peanut Butter (Peanut Butter and Caramel), Euronut (Nutella and Caramel), Dirty Laundry (Oreo and Caramel), Toasty Coconut (Coconut and Caramel), Cranberry Snowflake (White Chocolate, Caramel and Cranberries), Sticky Icky S’mores (Milk Chocolate, Graham Cracker, Marshmallow, and Caramel), Fingers (Butterfingers and Caramel), Aztec Gold (Chili, Lime, and Cheddar), Dark Side of the Moon (Dark Chocolate and Caramel), Jalapeno Poppers (Jalapeno, Cheese, and Caramel), Lon Chaney (Bhut Jolokia Ghost Pepper, Dark Chocolate, and Caramel), Hoppin’ Habanero (Habanero and Cheddar Cheese), Mo Betta Chedda (Cheddar Cheese and Caramel), and Dark & Tan (Peanut Butter, Dark Chocolate, and Caramel).

I started out by clearing out some space in my freezer to store it all. It took me several weeks to get through all the flavors, and it was a whole lot of fun. I started my tasting on Super Bowl Sunday and finished on Oscar night. The spicy flavors included Jalapeno Poppers, Hoppin’ Habanero, Aztec Gold, and Lon Chaney. From these four my favorite was the Aztec Gold. The combination of flavors was great. If you like the heat then you must also try the Lon Chaney flavor. This flavor starts out as dark chocolate for about five or ten seconds, then the ghost pepper kicks in for a good six minute burn.

I really liked all of the popcorn flavors from California Mad Poppers and after tasting them all Papa’s Peanut Butter and Fingers ended up being my big favorites.

I never thought frozen popcorn could taste so good! Eat Me Frozen! and Enjoy!

It took me a couple of days to sample all the flavors, because when I come across a flavor I like I just keep on eating it until it’s all gone. This is what happened when I opened up the Almond Honey Butter. It had a great taste and I began eating it by the handful. And, because it ended up being my favorite flavor, it only took a few minutes to empty the contents of the bag. The other flavors that I liked a lot were Honey Mustard, Dill Pickle, and Sour Cream and Chives. The flavors that fell in the middle were Chili Lime, Cheddar Jalapeno, S’mores, Strawberry Cheesecake, and Red Hots. I thought these flavors were just OK. The flavors that I didn’t like much were Champagne Pop, Dark Chocolate Raspberry, and Sweetheart Mix (the combination of Cherry, Watermelon and Vanilla flavored popcorn was my least favorite).

If you live in the Austin, TX area then please stop by and visit the popcorn shop called Cornucopia. They have a lot of fun flavors, but be sure to try the Almond Honey Butter.

I started out by tasting the Caramel popcorn. It had an excellent flavor and the crunch was simply awesome. Koated Kernels uses butterfly-shaped popcorn while most other popcorn makers use mushroom-shaped popcorn to create their candy-coated flavors. I’ve always preferred butterfly over mushroom, because I just love all those little pieces in the bottom of the bag. The Cinnamon Roll popcorn had a nice cinnamon flavor and was drizzled with white chocolate. After the first taste I knew I would have to add this flavor to my breakfast popcorn list. I highly recommend both of these popcorn flavors from Koated Kernels. I was able to save some of the Cinnamon Roll for breakfast, but that was a few days ago, and now it’s all gone. Yes, you can have popcorn for breakfast, it just won’t stay in your pantry as long as cereal.

A few days ago I got a box from The Adirondack Popcorn Company that contained three kinds of popcorn — Moose Crunch, Adirondack Jack, and Fire Starter. I started out with the Adirondack Jack (caramel corn with peanuts). I really liked the flavor of the caramel corn, but most of the peanuts were on the bottom of the bag. The next flavor I tried was the Moose Crunch (caramel corn with peanuts and pretzels mixed in then covered with peanut butter and chocolate). It was a pretty good combination of flavors and textures, but I couldn’t taste the peanut butter flavor and only some of the mix was coated with chocolate, however, it was very delicious. I saved the Fire Starter for last because just by the name I knew it was going to be hot. I took a handful and popped it into my mouth. The first crunch provided a sweet caramel flavor followed by a medium hot spicy flavor. I liked this flavor a lot and that mild hot spice stayed in my mouth for about three minutes.

I enjoyed all the flavors from Adirondack Popcorn. The Fire Starter was my favorite. If you like a little heat on your popcorn then give this flavor a try.

I received a small box recently that contained four small samples — Caramel & Crunchy Peanut Butter, Caramel & Almonds, Caramel Honey & Hazelnuts, and Caramel, Brandy Infused Fruit & Almond (Mince Pie).

I started my tasting by opening the bag of Caramel & Crunchy Peanut Butter. It was so good. After the first crunch I was hooked. I devoured the entire contents within minutes. This is exactly how I can tell when popcorn is good. If you find yourself eating it quickly until it’s all gone then it’s pretty good. The quicker you eat it, the better it is. That’s just my opinion. The next flavor I tried was Caramel Honey & Hazelnuts. The flavor combination just wasn’t what I expected. I just didn’t like the honey flavor. It was a subtle honey flavor, but it just didn’t go well with the hazelnut flavoring. The Caramel & Almond flavor was also pretty good. I didn’t eat it all as fast as the Caramel & Crunchy Peanut Butter… but if you like almonds, you’ll love this flavor.

I also received a bag of the Brandy Infused Fruit & Almond (Mince Pie). After consuming all of the other popcorn flavors all that remained was the bag of Mince Pie. I hesitated for a moment, thinking I should save it for another time… but I knew the flavor, the texture, the crunch, the chew… I was just way too excited… I opened up the bag and took a taste… and then… in a flash … it was gone.

Do yourself a favor and order some Mince Pie popcorn from Joe & Seph's for Thanksgiving. It’s absolutely one of the best popcorn flavors I’ve ever tasted.

Last week I received a small box that contained two small bags of Chai Caramel. I couldn’t wait to try this new flavor so I quickly opened up a bag and began tasting. This popcorn has a very unique flavor. The taste is similar to ginger snap cookies, but spicier. I had a real hard time putting the bag down, so I didn’t. The first bag was consumed in just a few minutes. What I liked most was how the flavor stays on your tongue for such a long time.

I took the second bag of Chai Caramel to a company picnic, along with a bag of the Mumbai Masala and someone decided to taste both flavors together. It was unbelievable. I love both flavors by themselves, but you just have to try them together too. You’ll be amazed by the spicy explosion in your mouth.

I actually have a bottle of Sriracha sauce in my refrigerator. It’s made with red chilies, garlic, sugar and vinegar. It really isn’t all that hot, but it has a great combination of flavors. I especially like it on scrambled eggs. When I opened up the bag of Sriracha Popcorn I expected to taste the same flavors that were in the sauce. I was pretty surprised after the first taste. It indeed had all of those flavors as well as a great crunch, and I really enjoyed the faint taste of vinegar at the end.

If you’re a popcorn addict like me, and like the taste of Sriracha sauce, then you’re going to love Sriracha Popcorn.
