Popcorn Pavilion sent me four kinds of popcorn — Chicago Style (no.2), Butter & Sea Salt (no.4), Jalapeno White Cheddar (no.7), and Rocky Road (no.16). Each bag was numbered, signed, and had a pop date. I thought this was pretty cool. Most of the samples I received were popped by Derek on January 20th. Thanks Derek. All of the popcorn arrived fresh and crunchy. The only problem I had was that the bags were not resealable. Popcorn loses its crunch pretty quickly when not in a airtight container, so once the bag is open you pretty much need to eat it all or find another container to put it in. I usually eat it all.
I started out with the Chicago Style, which is a mix of caramel and cheese popcorn. It was really good. The cheese flavor was great and the caramel corn was sweet and crunchy. I tasted the Rocky Road next. I didn’t care for this combination because I thought it just had too many ingredients. Popcorn by itself is good, but if you add too much stuff then you can’t taste the popcorn. The Butter & Sea Salt reminded me of the popcorn you get at the movies. It was really good, my second favorite. My overall favorite was the Jalapeno White Cheddar. It started out with a wonderful white cheddar taste and ended with a spicy jalapeno flavor. I even saved some of this flavor (in a resealable container) to share with some friends. It’s fantastic! Be sure to give Popcorn Pavilion a try — they have 16 different flavors to choose from.
