retrocornRetrocorn is a popcorn company located in Essex, England. I just happen to be the first person in the U.S. to taste their sweet gourmet popcorn flavors. They sent me a box that included the following eight flavors — Lime Sherbet, Lemon Sherbet, Cherry Pips, Pear Drops, Cola Cubes, Apple and Custard, Rhubarb and Custard, and Strawberries and Cream.

I started out by tasting the Apple and Custard flavor. It was an interesting combination of flavors, but it was just a little weak on the flavoring. The same was true for the Rhubarb and Custard and the Pear Drops flavors which really needed more of the sweet flavoring from the candy. All the other flavors were just incredible — Lime, Lemon, Cherry, Cola, and Strawberries and Cream.
retrocorn2I applaud companies like Retrocorn who invent new popcorn flavors. Taking the flavors from candies we ate as kids and adding them to popcorn is a brilliant idea. If you live in England then go get some Retrocorn. I’m sure you Brits have probably tasted some of these candy flavors, but when you add those flavors to popcorn you get the added crunch. Be sure to try the Lime Sherbet — this was my favorite flavor.

    Thanks Kevin,

We love your blog, You’re spot on! We no longer make the apple and custard and the other two flavours you tried that didn’t pack the punch were from the low calorie range which we no longer do! All the flavours you enjoyed are how we now make all our Retrocorn!

I am still working on a licorice flavor. I will send you some when it is ready!

    Thanks for the review
